Kanban Boards

6 min read Updated June 26, 2026 Mind Studio v1.3

What

Kanban boards visualize work as cards moving through columns — typically To Do, In Progress, and Done.

Why

Track task status at a glance, limit work in progress, and connect brainstorming (mind maps) to execution (kanban).

How

  1. Switch to Kanban view from the toolbar
  2. Default columns are created automatically — rename or add columns via the column menu
  3. Drag cards between columns to update status
  4. Click a card to add description, labels, due date, and assignee

Converting Mind Map Nodes

Select nodes in Mind Map view, right-click → Convert to Kanban Cards. Each node becomes a card in the first column.

Example Workflow

  • Backlog — Ideas from mind map brainstorm
  • This Week — Committed tasks
  • In Progress — Active work (WIP limit: 3)
  • Done — Completed items
