Overview
Our Privacy Commitment
KWT Labs ("we," "us," or "our") builds professional Windows desktop software and maintains this website at kwtlabs.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We believe privacy policies should be clear and honest. This document describes our actual practices — not aspirational marketing language. If our practices change, we will update this page.
Privacy First
We collect only what we need to operate our website, support customers, and deliver our software.
Secure Data Handling
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold.
Transparent Practices
We explain what we collect and why — including what our desktop apps do on your computer.
No Data Selling
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for advertising or data brokerage.
Section 1
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you interact with KWT Labs, you may voluntarily share:
Name
Email address
Company name (optional)
Support requests and messages
License or order information (when purchasing)
Account credentials (when account features are enabled)
Examples include subscribing to our product newsletter, contacting us, submitting a support ticket, or creating an account.
Automatically Collected
Like most websites, our servers may automatically record standard technical data when you visit:
Browser type and version
Device type and operating system
Pages viewed and referring URL
Date and time of access
IP address (in server access logs)
Our desktop software may send update-check requests and, if you activate a license, limited activation data (see Software Licensing below).
We do not collect unnecessary personal information. If a feature does not require your data, we do not ask for it.
Section 2
How We Use Information
We use the information described above for legitimate business purposes, including:
Product Activation
Customer Support
Software Updates
Account Management
Security
Website Improvement
We may use aggregated, non-identifying statistics (for example, total download counts) to understand product usage. We do not use your personal data for unrelated purposes without your consent.
Section 3
Desktop Software Privacy
Local Processing by Default
Most KWT Labs desktop applications — including KWT Spider and KWT Mind Studio — process your files locally on your Windows computer. Your project data, crawled URLs, documents, and workflow files remain on your device unless a specific feature requires an internet connection.
Internet access may be used for license verification, update checks, or optional cloud/AI features that you explicitly enable. We do not upload your local files to our servers for general processing.
Website Tools
Browser-Based Tools
If you use free online tools on our website, uploaded files are processed temporarily to deliver the requested result. Temporary files are deleted after processing completes and are not retained for unrelated purposes.
Desktop Apps
Installed Software
Files you open, crawl, or analyze in our desktop applications stay on your computer. Output reports and exports are saved where you choose. We do not permanently upload your local files unless a feature clearly states otherwise.
Section 4
License Verification
When you purchase and activate KWT Labs software, we may collect and store limited licensing information to validate your entitlement and prevent unauthorized use:
License KeyYour product license identifier
Activation DateWhen the license was activated
Device IdentifierA hashed machine ID for activation binding
This data is used solely for software activation, subscription validation, and license recovery support. We do not use license data to track your in-app activity or file contents.
Section 5
Downloads
When you download KWT Labs software from our website, we may record basic download information such as the product name, version, timestamp, and general location derived from your IP address. This helps us measure demand, detect abuse, and improve release distribution.
Download logs are not linked to your license unless you also provide identifying information (for example, by creating an account or completing a purchase).
Section 6
